BUF Taxi Dispatch

Practical hierarchy:
use the airline for itinerary decisions, BUF for airport status and terminal information,

Why the driver may not already be sitting at the curb:
BUF states that curbside spaces are for active loading and unloading.

BUF identifies Departures and the security checkpoint on the upper level.
A departure trip should be built backward from the time the airline expects the traveler to be at the airport.

BUF's current airport FAQ says the terminal is open 24/7, but the TSA security checkpoint closes at
9:00 p.m. daily. If a late departure is delayed, verify the airline's current instructions
and BUF's operating information before changing your airport-arrival plan.
Scheduled, Estimated and Actual
Do Not Mean the Same Thing
Scheduled
The timetable time originally assigned to the flight. It may remain visible even after operations change.
Estimated
A current projection. It can move again, so do not treat one estimate as a permanent new schedule.
Actual
A completed operational event, such as the aircraft actually arriving. Passenger-ready time still comes later.
Cancelled / Rebooked
The original ground plan may no longer match the trip. Obtain the replacement itinerary, then update dispatch.
For departures, an estimated delay is not permission to ignore the airline's original check-in or baggage instructions.
Confirm with the airline before reducing the airport-arrival margin.

A trip between Canada and BUF adds government-controlled land-border processing to the road trip.
Border traffic, inspection and secondary processing can change independently of the airline schedule.

Border processing occurs before airline check-in/security, so it belongs inside the pre-airport timing plan.
No Guaranteed Crossing Duration
Border officers control inspection and admissibility. Transportation providers cannot guarantee the processing time.
A flight delay can affect an airline connection, a pre-booked taxi, hotel check-in,
an event or a Canada-to-BUF departure differently. Contact the provider that controls the affected part of the trip.
Airline Connection at Risk
Contact the airline. The airline controls gates, ticketing, rebooking and protection on another flight.
Update ground transportation after the replacement itinerary is known.
Ground Schedule at Risk
Contact dispatch when a major change affects the taxi reservation, and separately notify the hotel,
event or other provider when their reservation is affected.
A major itinerary change can affect the flight, taxi, hotel and border schedule in different ways.
Canada → BUF warning:
a very tight return schedule creates two independent risks—the border and the airline deadline.
Ground transportation cannot recover time lost to a government inspection once the remaining airport margin is already too small.

Should I schedule my taxi a fixed number of minutes after my BUF flight lands?

What happens if my BUF arrival is delayed?

What is the current BUF airport waiting policy?

My late-night BUF departure is delayed. Can I arrive after 9:00 p.m.?
